Practitioner's Certificate Program on Workplace Sexual Harassment Prevention Laws

Designed for professionals engaged in the practical application of workplace sexual harassment law—where judgement, procedural integrity, and accountability are required. These programs emphasise applied understanding and procedural rigour, supporting practitioners in compliance, enquiries, advisory functions, and Internal Committee roles.

What Certification Means at Ungender

Certification at Ungender signifies applied practitioner capability, not attendance. These programs are structured around real-world application—legal, procedural, and behavioural dimensions held together.

Key POSH Roles & Terms

Explore POSH Dictionary

POSH Practitioner

An individual who works with the POSH framework in practice—applying law, procedures, and judgement within organisational settings as an IC member, External Member, advisor, investigator, or trainer.

POSH Trainer

Focuses on building awareness and capacity through POSH trainings for employees, Internal Committees, or first responders. Centres on education and capability-building, rather than decision-making or conducting enquiries.

POSH Advisor

Supports organisations and Internal Committees by interpreting the POSH framework, guiding compliance, and advising on appropriate processes and responses. Advisors strengthen IC functioning but do not replace the statutory role of the IC.

Internal Committee (IC) Member

A formally appointed member of an organisation's Internal Committee under the POSH Act, 2013. IC Members are responsible for receiving complaints, conducting enquiries, and recommending actions in accordance with the law.

External Member

A mandatory independent member of the Internal Committee. The role exists to support neutrality, fairness, and adherence to due process, and is typically fulfilled by an experienced POSH practitioner with relevant legal or social-sector exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The POSH Act, 2013 does not mandate certification. However, organisations are required to constitute and train Internal Committees, and certification is often used as a professional standard to demonstrate readiness and competence.

POSH certifications are relevant for individuals who handle or support POSH responsibilities in practice, including IC members, External Members, HR professionals, legal practitioners, trainers, and advisors.

POSH training typically focuses on awareness or skill-building for specific audiences. POSH certification signifies structured learning and assessed capability to work with the POSH framework in applied roles.

The Advanced Program requires prior exposure to POSH compliance, investigations, training, or advisory work. If you are unsure about fit, we recommend completing the baseline readiness assessment.

Certification supports professional readiness but does not automatically appoint an individual as an External Member. External Member appointments are made by organisations in accordance with statutory requirements.
